Every spacecraft marshalled nad every being rectuited what is needed most now are starfighter pilots.
Will you join their struggle to end this tyranny?
Will you become a hero of the rebellion?

The first game of series was released in March 1993. It was the first time when players could jump into the cockpit of starfighters from Star Wars in an action space simulator. This game very accurately accorded with the original Star Wars trilogy.
The rookie pilot can pilot three starfighters: the X-Wing, the A-Wing, and the Y-Wing. Single starfighters have different parameters, such as speed, hull and shield strength, armament, etc.
First of all, the pilot must learn how to have basic control of his starship. Pilot will learn this in the Pilot 'Proving Ground'. Then the pilot can try out 'Traing Simulator' where they will be flying missions against Empire from Rebel Alliance history (6 missions for each starfighter). When players sufficiently understand how to control single crafts, he can set off on the main part of the game, the campaign called 'Tour of Duty'. (X-Wing game has 3 campaigns).

The first Tour of Duty, "A New Ally", consists of twelve missions and describes Imperial campaign against Rebels. The campaign ends when Rebels with hidden explosives destroy an Imperial Star Destroyer.

The second Tour of Duty, "The Great Search", consists of twelve missions too. In this campaign, Rebels reveal the secret of the Imperial force's newest weapon - the Death Star. The campaign ends with protection of princess Leia's corvette Tantive IV which ferries Death Stars plan.

The third and last Tour of Duty, "The Gathering Storm", has fourteen missions and describes Rebel's route to the final battle of Yavin and the Death Star destruction.
